Biography

Kabir Muhammad Lawal is an academic, Industrial and Textile Designer, teacher, and researcher in the Department of Creative Arts, Federal University of Education, Zaria. He holds a B.A. (Hons.) in Industrial Design, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and a Master of Arts in Industrial Design from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as well as a National Diploma in Textile Technology from Kaduna Polytechnic. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Industrial Design at Ahmadu Bello University and has over six years of teaching and research experience in Textile Design and Creative Arts Education.

His research interests include Product Development, Industrial and Textile Design, Indigenous Arts and Crafts, Sustainable Fashion, Creative Arts Education, Contemporary Design, Artificial Intelligence, and Visual Arts. His scholarly publications address innovative industrial design, textile education, sustainable fashion, traditional textile techniques, and indigenous knowledge systems in Creative Arts Education.

Lawal contributed to academic administration and student development through various institutional responsibilities. He is a member of the Textile Researchers Association of Nigeria, Society of Nigerian Artists, and Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. His professional profile reflects a sustained commitment to design innovation, cultural heritage, sustainable creative practice, education, and scholarly research.
